Chances are, when you became a parent you set out to find a pediatrician. But just as kids need their own doctor, they need their own dentist, too.
Pediatric dentists do more to address your child’s dental and developmental needs. Good habit formation and a lifelong enthusiasm for tooth care come from early experiences in a fun, worry-free environment. We can help.
Why Pediatric Dentistry? Following dental school, pediatric dentists undertake two more years of specialty training specifically to address the unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special health needs. A pediatric dentist is better equipped to manage your growing child.
We offer comprehensive dental care for children from birth to age 18, which includes all aspects of preventive and restorative dentistry.
We truly enjoy our work. Though we provide a fun and casual atmosphere, we’re serious about dentistry and we are completely dedicated to all aspects of oral health.
We address kids’ dental and developmental needs to deliver the best care in the most comfortable and positive manner possible. It’s that simple. We know what works for children at every age and stage and we work closely with parents to develop a plan we all agree on. Together, we can help encourage a lifelong enthusiasm for oral care in your child, right from the start.
We take pride in our ability to successfully provide dental treatment for patients who are experiencing fear or anxiety, or simply find it difficult to sit still. You will be amazed by what we can accomplish through an atmosphere of patience and trust. For those patients who have more extensive needs, or do not quite have the ability to endure certain procedures, we are highly trained to provide a wide variety of sedation options including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, deep sedation and general anesthesia – all within the comfort of our office.
As your child grows, we monitor all aspects of dental and orthodontic health, including tooth spacing, bite development, and more. This is important because in some cases, early intervention can help patients avoid more invasive treatment later. Our specialists collaborate seamlessly, offering the convenience of orthodontic consultations in the course of regular visits, which makes it easy for busy parents. We build confidence through the long-term plan we create specifically for your child.
If your child has a dental concern that requires treatment, we’ll propose a plan and take the time to clearly explain every step. We’ll make sure you know treatment costs and help you navigate benefits, too.
You can be a good dental health parent by modeling positive attitudes and routines at home from the start. Bring your child to see us between six and 12 months of age — “first visit by first birthday” is a good rule of thumb.
To plan your visit, just call for an appointment at the SMILES location that works for you. Based on the age of your child, we’ll be sure to recommend appointment times that will ensure they have the best possible experience.
Our staff creates a pleasant, welcoming feeling for kids and families at every visit. Our fun-infused spaces are filled with imaginative touches that delight the senses and offer calming distractions for kids. SMILES is the place to be.
